Skills: Participants are not expected to have any prior technological knowledge. However, basic experience of internet and email are welcome.
FCE goes digital (English)
Online Course based on the book written by Ana Maria Menezes and Jennifer Verschoor
A 4-week online course for teachers who prepare students for FCE or other international exams. It aims at providing English teachers with the opportunity to reflect and explore digital possibilities to develop different language skills. Each week, participants are expected to participate in discussions and explore activities described on the book "FCE goes digital" written by Ana Maria Menezes and Jennifer Verschoor.
During this course you´ll :

write tool reviews with your impressions.
exchange ideas with other professionals.
build a bank of digital resources with other participants.
take part in two online meetings with the moderators and the group.
Exam preparation challenges.
Digital tools and apps to explore (this content will be built with participants' help throughout the course).
Activities for developing language skills.
Ways to evaluate educational tools and apps.
Lesson plans integrating digital tools to exam preparation classes.
YOU WILL NEED
a computer, a tablet or a smartphone.

a Gmail account.
The course will cover 4 weeks from the start date. Participants are expected to spend around 7-10 hours per week reading articles, exploring activities and tools, participating in discussion forums and developing individual and group work. There are some optional tasks for those who wish to move further.
Digital spaces: Google community, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Hangouts.
ANA MARIA MENEZES
An EFL teacher, teacher developer and an experienced online moderator. She holds an M.A. degree in Linguistic Studies, in the area of teacher development in virtual environments. She also writes about new learning possibilities on her blog LIFE FEAST and has organized her work in three ebooks for EFL teachers: Webtools applied to teaching, Developing the 4 Skills with Webtools and FCE goes digital. She has co-moderated several EVO sessions and has given talks at International Conferences.
Jennifer Verschoor is an EFL teacher specialized in online teaching, mobile learning and training via virtual learning environments. She completed an MA in Virtual Environments. She has extensive experience as an international teacher trainer both face-to-face and online. She is the co-author of My first digital journey an ebook for young learners published by The Round and nominated by the ELTons 2014 under the category of Innovation in teacher resources.
EVALUATION AND CERTIFICATION
By the end of the course, participants will be invited to self-evaluate their performance during the course.
A CERTIFICATE (40 hours) will be issued by ConnectMe Education to participants who cover 80% of the proposed activities. Este é um curso livre não regulamentado pelo MEC.
